From the dusty tomes of Gabe Girard:
Light the candles, burn the sage, splash the sacred lair with pentagrams and archaic materials. Sometimes the only way to viably conclude an evening is with ritual recitations of forgotten occult poetry and lore. Hear Aleister Crowley’s invocations and prayers set to unnerving ambience: music and poetry with the uncanny ability to cast shadow where light once was. Paradoxically dark and ecstatic, the narrator of The Dagger With a Thousand Eyes comes close to some of The Great Beast’s own poetry recordings.

Le narrateur de The Dagger With a Thousand Eyes, paradoxalement sombre mais extatique, se rapproche de certains enregistrements de poésie de La Grande Bête.

- The Doppler effect is our distorted perception of what we leave behind in the past. The Doppler Effect is Ontario musician Blakkr Nio and Irish musician Newgrange’s repurposing of urban environments into creative and artistic spaces. Droning guitars and scrap metal alike recorded in abandoned buildings produce an appropriately haunting and forlorn sound. These spectral tones are evocative of the spaces themselves. It’s as if we are hearing the ghosts of these lonely buildings and the lingering presence of their out-lived purpose.

The Doppler effect is our distorted perception of what we leave behind in the past. The Doppler Effect is Ontario musician Blakkr Nio and Irish musician Newgrange’s repurposing of urban environments into creative and artistic spaces. L’effet Doppler est le nom donné à notre perception des choses laissées derrière nous, dans le passé. The Doppler Effect, ce sont deux musiciens, l’Ontarien Blakkr Nio et l’Irlandais Newgrange, qui revalorisent le milieu urbain en le transformant en espace artistique et créatif. Autant le grincement métallique que le bourdonnement d’une guitare peuvent produire un son troublant et mélancolique quand ils sont enregistrés dans un édifice abandonné. Ces sonorités spectrales évoquent les espaces eux-mêmes, comme si nous entendions les fantômes de ces édifices oubliés, la présence persistante de leur utilité obsolète.
