Translator:
The translator is responsible for translating content from English into French.
Skills:
- Fully bilingual (French and English) with very strong translation skills.
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, documents, search engine, and email are required.
- Candidate must be self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills are assets.
- We value do-it-yourself culture. Resourcefulness, a strong work ethic, and creativity are valued above experience.
Duties:
- Translate website content from English to French (and occasionally French to English).
- Implement and maintain markup consistency for translated copy.
- Coordinate outreach to Francophone artists, translators, and French-speaking communities.
Mandatory
- Located in Kitchener or Ottawa for 8 weeks this summer.
- Age 30 or under at the start of the job.
- Was a full-time student in the last academic year, and is considering doing more school.
- Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee, and an Ontario resident.

Administration:
The Administration Intern provides support for the day-to-day operations and projects of Wyrd Arts Initiatives and the Kitchener gallery/retailer Open Sesame: Art, Books, and Objects (Kitchener) or GABBA HEY (Ottawa). The Administration Intern will work with spreadsheets, Trello, internal databases, and other tools to assist Wyrd Arts Initiatives’ Executive Director with project management and reaching goals.
Skills:
- The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for online media, experimental art/music/zines, Weird Canada, and Wyrd Arts Initiatives.
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, documents, search engine, and email are required.
- Candidate must be self-motivated and self-disciplined.

Inclusivity:
The Inclusivity Intern will help work on accessibility and inclusivity projects to make the Wyrd community more aware and inclusive of all people, with a focus on Indigenous experimental artists/artistic communities. To this end, they will research and reach out to local Indigenous organizations and coordinate partnerships and a musical event (or another relevant project of their choosing).
