Documentaires glides between the washed out pixels of a cathodic screen, plays with the tracking of a rented VHS, and draws its imagination through crazy obsolete futuristic technology. This hallucinatory sound palette lifts off from a retro-modular ’80s commercial vibe. Some pieces inevitably remind of James Ferraro’s work, like a delightfully groovy B-movie pop jungle, whereas others offer a sensory trip to a sci-fi krautrock landscape. Bataille Solaire’s lush and sophisticated melodies simultaneously cohere and divide into the nature of an era, an intangible yet definite mood common to a whole generation, making us levitate in psychedelic meditation.

Documentaires s’immisce entre les pixels délavés d’un écran cathodique, joue avec le tracking d’un VHS loué, puise son imaginaire dans une technologie futuriste désuète déjantée. Une hallucinante palette de sons rétro-modulaires tirés d’un cadre "commercial 1980s". Certaines pièces rappellent inévitablement le travail de James Ferraro, délicieusement pop groovy jungle B-movie tandis que d’autres proposent un voyage sensoriel dans un paysage sonore krautrock science-fiction. Bataille Solaire, avec ses mélodies sophistiquées luxuriantes, nous offre un tape cohérent qui nous plonge dans l’essence d’une époque, un mood intangible et défini à la fois, commun à toute une génération, nous faisant léviter dans une méditation psychédélique.
