New Canadiana :: Out of Sight of Land – Every Love Song Is a Ghost Song

The twilight zone. Those who had something to shout finally went to bed while those who have nothing to say are not out of it yet. That’s the in-between—when the world’s humming keeps quiet, nearly dies out—invoked by Out of Sight of Land’s music. Oh, you won’t hear in the inverted canticles of Every Love Song Is a Ghost Song the mournful sigh of those spectres that pure love would make palpable. The living are exorcised from the ambient noises, all sonorous uselessness by the drifting accordion and Damon Hankoff’s ethereal voice: those opaque ghosts that go through the same streets as us and, in the evening, lay by our side.

L’heure grise. Out of Sight of Land invoque.
